Alison Creed Award 2017: Prof. Per Fink, Aarhus

The 2017 Alison Creed Award for outstanding contribution to research in the field of psychosomatic medicine has been awarded to Professor Per Fink, of Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. Per Fink has published over 200 scientific papers and written and co-edited several important texts. He is recognised as a world expert and leading international  researcher in the field of medically unexplained symptoms.  He has advanced the field by developing the concept of bodily distress syndrome, which arose from his own empirical work studying people with unexplained physical symptoms. Frits Huyse Award 2017: Prof. Graça Cardoso, Lisbon

The European Association of Psychosomatic Medicine’s Frits Huyse award is presented to a person who has demonstrated outstanding contribution to the development of consultation-liaison psychiatry in Europe. The awardee should also be a person who is recognized for being willing to share knowledge, support others and fostering collaboration between Europeans in the field of C-L psychiatry. EAPM speaker Per Fink at the German Psychosomatic Congress 2017

EAPM speaker Lone Fjorback from Aarhus, Denmark gave a lecture about "Working with individuals in chronic pain - resources for teaching mindfulness". In a second EAPM lecture Per Fink spoke about "The future of somatoform disorders. ICD-11, DSM-5 and beyond".
